Terrapin Photowalk

I had the day off on MLK (Martin Luther King) day so I finally had a chance to get my car serviced first thing in the morning, get a haircut and take a quick walk in Terrapin Beach Park.

It was a cold Monday morning. Before we headed out into the trail, my daughter and I had a little brunch at the picnic area. Our goal was to get to the beach so I can take pictures of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. My daughter squeaked at the beginning of the trail when she almost stepped onto this guy...

Thing is, it was only my second time taking on the trails and I really didn't plan it out the day before. The map at the entrance seemed straight-forward but in reality, it doesn't show you the forks along the trail in detail so long story short, we made the wrong turn and ended up in the maintenance trail. It seemed like we were walking forever and my daughter was starting to get antsy. She really wanted to get to the beach. We could see the bridge but not at an ideal spot. After walking for over an hour we decided to turn back as it started to get extremely cold and we were getting a bit tired.

On the way back I came across this uprooted tree which I didn't even notice on the way in.

Dead Trees

Although we didn't get where we intended to go, all in all, it was a nice time spent with my daughter. She still enjoyed the walk with daddy.
